FAQ

Central AC maintenance questions

Our central AC maintenance includes a filter check, condenser coil cleaning and an evaporator coil inspection, a drain line and pan check, an electrical inspection, a refrigerant check, a fan and motor check, a thermostat check and performance testing. Each step helps the system cool evenly, run efficiently and avoid breakdowns.

Spring is best, before the first hot spell and before service schedules fill up. A spring tune-up leaves time to fix anything the technician finds, so the system is ready when you need it. If your central air was not serviced last year, book a visit soon.

Check the filter every month during the cooling season and replace a standard filter every one to three months, or more often with pets or allergies. A clogged filter restricts airflow, lowers efficiency and can make the evaporator coil freeze. We check the filter during every maintenance visit.

The outdoor condenser coil releases the heat taken from your home. Dust, pollen, leaves and grass clippings build up on it, so the system works harder and uses more energy to cool. Cleaning the coil restores heat transfer, lowers running costs and reduces the strain on the compressor.

Yes. Regular maintenance catches small issues such as worn electrical parts, low refrigerant or a clogged drain before they cause bigger damage. Systems serviced once a year generally run more efficiently, break down less often and give you more years out of your investment than systems that are left alone.
